PomoSpot is a free, browser-based pomodoro timer. It is built to work without an account. This page explains what stays on your device, what is stored if you choose to sign in, and which outside services the app talks to.
By default, everything PomoSpot remembers is kept in your browser's local storage on your own device. This includes:
This data is not sent to us unless you sign in and turn on cloud sync. Clearing your browser data removes it.
You can sign in with Google, Apple, or an email address and password. Sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication (a Google service). When you are signed in, your tasks, settings and focus statistics are copied to Firebase so they follow you across devices. We store:
We do not sell this data or use it for advertising. You can sign out at any time; local data stays on the device. To delete your account and synced data entirely, use the feedback form in the app or email us (see below) and we will remove it.
When you create or join a study room, the room code, the name you type, your timer state and any chat messages you send are stored in Firebase Realtime Database so that everyone in the room sees the same timer. Messages are visible to everyone who has the room code. Do not share personal information in room chat. Rooms are temporary and are not kept as a permanent record.
The weather widget uses the Open-Meteo API. If you allow location access in your browser, your approximate coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo to fetch a local forecast. You can instead type a city name, which is sent to Open-Meteo's geocoding service. Nothing about your location is stored by us beyond the city or coordinates saved in your local browser settings.
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people use PomoSpot and which features they use. Google Analytics collects device and usage information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, and browser type. You can block this with a content blocker or Google's opt-out browser add-on without affecting the timer.
Messages sent through the in-app feedback form, including the optional email address you enter, are delivered to us through EmailJS. We use them only to reply to you and improve the app.
PomoSpot itself does not set tracking cookies. Firebase Authentication, Google Analytics, Spotify and Apple Music may set cookies or use local storage to keep you signed in or to measure usage, as described in their own policies.
PomoSpot is a general study tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Questions or deletion requests can be sent through the feedback button inside the app.
